On April 18, MHQ CEO Dara Rudick participated in AchieveMinneapolis’ Principal Partner Day. In partnership with Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS), AchieveMinneapolis matches community leaders with MPS principals for a half-day shadowing opportunity at their schools.
Dara’s principal partner was Mary Pat Cumming, principal at FAIR Downtown School, a fine arts public school located in Downtown Minneapolis whose students are first through third, and ninth through twelfth graders.
“I learned so much by shadowing Mary Pat for the morning,” said Dara. “It is absolutely amazing how many hugely important decisions a principal makes throughout the day. Mary Pat’s energy level, professionalism, and leadership were absolutely inspiring! She is so accessible to students, parents, and faculty, and so invested in supporting each individual student.”
