With the change of seasons, I find myself reflecting on the changes in our lives, our communities, and our realities over the past several years. This pandemic continues to hit us hard, and folks are struggling. At the same time, I am inspired daily by small acts of leadership.
Within our MHQ team, I am inspired by leaders who have invested in deep and meaningful relationships. These relationships lead to compassionate conversations, guiding team members to consider sound choices. These relationships compliment, instead of force, well-considered policies.
Within our community, it is tough to miss the news of folks in the public eye behaving badly. In reality, we witness incredible sacrifices from most folks who step up to serve, whether public service professionals or elected officials. We are fortunate and grateful for these individuals doing their best to serve our communities under unthinkable conditions.
For leaders of associations, whose members are seeking from us reassurance, guidance, and community, we must seek to both understand difficult realities and find the inspiration to grow forward. I know it isn’t easy.
Thank you leaders, for your service and leadership. May we grow together.
