From March 17-20, MHQ managed the 97th Annual National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST) International Conference in Denver, Colorado. Mike Swan, Mackenzie Kelley, Elise Gumm, and Amy Sellheim met well over 1,200 NARST members in person and helped put on a fabulous science-filled event complete with poster presentations, an awards luncheon, 14 concurrent session rooms, and even a bagpipe-playing DJ at the President’s Reception.
This year’s theme, Science Education for the Rest of Us, is “intended to foreground the purpose of science education, and to draw our collective attention to the many socio-scientific issues that are increasingly important in modern society but have yet to find a place in the standard K-12 curriculum.” Over 1,000 science researchers and educators from around the world will gather to engage in this exciting work and build community with one another. Many kudos to NARST for putting on another fantastic conference.
