Stephanie Gandy, MHQ’s Client Services Manager, reflects on 2020, the events impacting us all, and the unique ways MHQ’s Client Services Team met these challenges.
What a year 2020 was! Our professional lives were mainly lived virtually, which can present challenges, since humanity can easily be forgotten in an electronic world. Our clients and communities experienced tragedy, uncertainty, and grief. The death of George Floyd literally hit home as several MHQ team members live close to the unrest and response to brutality against BIPOC residents in our city.
As staff of color who have been greatly impacted within our homes and in our neighborhoods in Minneapolis, our team was resilient, took care of ourselves and one another, and uplifted MHQ’s strongly held values of Compassion, Openness, Service and Integrity.
With the experiences of 2020, I am incredibly proud of our client services team, made up of women of color, for being the front facing powerhouse of Management HQ. The Client Service Team has shown up with sincerity, strength, and deep care for the lives and needs of our clients.
I could not be prouder to lead this team of brilliant and dedicated staff members. We are looking forward to the prospect of what 2021 will bring. We look forward to supporting our partners and association communities in this new year.
