My Dog Is My Home is a national nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness and their companion animals. MHQ is proud to select My Dog Is My Home as our 2025 community partner for the second year in a row. This organization is having powerful impact and providing invaluable support to keep people and their pets together. In addition to supporting the organization by donating a percentage of MHQ’s revenue in honor of our clients, we will share information about the organization each month and provide in-kind consulting services.
My Dog Is My Home is currently working with Monterey County and PATH in San Diego, California to create pet-inclusive policies. Consistent policies and personalized training will allow these organizations to provide a safe and welcoming environment for people and their companion animals. If you would like to find out more about how My Dog Is My Home can assist your organization with pet-inclusive policies and trainings, please contact shoshana@mydogismyhome.org.
We’re excited to share that My Dog is My Home announced their special group rate for the My Dog Is My Home Conference, held virtually and taking place from March 25-27. Groups of 3 or more can now register for only $75 per person.
The My Dog Is My Home Conference offers 3 full days of online programming with the mission to increase pet-inclusive emergency & permanent housing. Replays will be available to registrants following the conference so you may watch at your convenience.
If you plan to attend the National Alliance to End Homelessness’s conference in Los Angeles, please join us at our Los Angeles Open House on February 25, from 12:30 – 4 pm at PATH LA. The event includes a tour of a pet-inclusive shelter, a presentation about PATH’s pet-inclusive policies, and personal stories of lived experience of homelessness. Due to the devastating fires in the area, follow My Dog Is My Home to be informed about any changes.
We’d also like to share that Christine Kim, Founder of My Dog Is My Home, and members of MDIMH published a journal article on the intersection of homelessness, climate change, and migration—a timely piece in light of the devastation of Los Angeles. Read more about it here!
