
My Dog Is My Home is a national nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness and their companion animals. MHQ is proud to select My Dog Is My Home as our 2025 community partner for the second year in a row.
This organization is having a powerful impact and providing invaluable support to keep people and their pets together. In addition to supporting the organization by donating a percentage of MHQ’s revenue in honor of our clients, we will share information about the organization each month and provide in-kind consulting services.

My Dog Is My Home Presents: The Next Chapter | A Celebration of Stories for Systems Change – September 9 in NYC
We hope you’ll join My Dog Is My Home for a special evening in NYC to support the organization’s work to keep human-animal families together. Please save the date (September 9, 2025) for a special night of storytelling, special guests, a silent auction, delicious refreshments, and more, emceed by comedian Lucie Pohl. MDIMH Open House at New Horizons in Seattle, Aug 8, 2025
My Dog Is My Home is hosting our very first Open House in Seattle on August 8th at New Horizons, a provider of pet-inclusive housing for young adults ages 18-25. The Open House will include a tour of the facility, a presentation about co-sheltering policies and procedures, and a personal story told by one of New Horizons’ residents.

Co-Sheltering Collaborative Update: Q2 Meeting & Q3 Registration
My Dog Is My Home serves as the backbone organization for the Co-Sheltering Collaborative, a national network of people and organizations that advocate for and work towards pet-inclusive emergency and long-term affordable housing.
The Co-Sheltering Collaborative meets quarterly via Zoom. The 2025 Q2 meeting featured a fireside chat with Dianne Canafax, Founder and Director of Kitsap Animal Rescue & Education; and Cole Wakefield, MS, Executive Director of Good Shepherd Humane Society in Arkansas and Consultant at Rural Home.
