As February unfolds, we embrace a month rich with meaning—honoring Black History Month, celebrating our incredible team and clients, and challenging ourselves to stretch in new ways.
Honoring Black History Month
Black-owned businesses contribute over $133.7 billion annually to the U.S. economy (U.S. Census Bureau, 2021), yet they receive less than 2% of corporate and government contracts (Brookings Institution, 2020). This stark disparity reminds us why our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is not just a statement—it’s a continuous investment. At MHQ, we are dedicated to ensuring our work uplifts and amplifies underrepresented voices, both in our business practices and in the associations we support.
A Heartfelt Valentine’s Appreciation
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I share deep gratitude. To our clients—your trust fuels our mission and inspires us to do our best work every day. To our team—your dedication and passion are the foundation of MHQ.
Strategy to Help Us Thrive
This month, the MHQ team is tackling strategic projects in small groups, as defined in our recent strategy session. These initiatives will challenge us, push us to think bigger, and move MHQ and our clients forward in exciting ways.
A Personal Milestone
On a personal note, my spouse Ryan and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on January 29. I can’t imagine it is easy being married to an entrepreneur, and I am incredibly grateful for a spouse who supports me and my work with MHQ wholeheartedly. I’m also grateful for a week of sunshine and vacation to mark this milestone together.
As we honor the past, celebrate the present, and build for the future, I look forward to stretching, learning, and making an impact—together.
