Expanding client portfolio brings new hires to Minneapolis-based association management company
Minneapolis, Minn. – Jan. 25, 2017 – As Management HQ (www.management-hq.com) continues to grow its client portfolio, it is pleased to announce three new senior hires. The Minneapolis-based association management company which provides infrastructure to professional and trade associations has welcomed the addition of Jim Murphy as executive director of the National Association for Regulatory Administration (NARA), Jin (Jinny) Lee Palen as executive director of the Minnesota Association of Community Mental Health Programs (MACMHP), and Lisa Shepherd as director of marketing and communications.

Jim Murphy was announced by Management HQ as NARA’s new executive director after an extensive, nationwide search. NARA is an international nonprofit association representing all human care, including adult care, child care, and child welfare services. Based in Rochester, New York, Jim previously served as NARA’s president-elect, as well worked as an independent consultant providing quality improvement, organizational assessment, leadership development, program improvement and policy development to child, youth and family serving organizations. Jim earned a bachelor of science from the State University of New York College at Brockport in psychology, and a graduate certificate in executive leadership from the Institute for Non-profit Management at Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
Jin (Jinny) Lee Palen joins Management HQ as MACMHP’s new executive director, having most recently served as a health policy specialist for the Minnesota Association of Community Health Centers. Jinny’s expertise and experience includes working with mission-driven organizations and associations, conducting legislative, policy and advocacy efforts, and serving as a spokesperson. Jinny holds a masters of public health from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor of arts degree from the College of Saint Benedict.
Lisa Shepherd is a marketing and communications expert with more than fifteen years of experience supporting major brands on a local and national level. In her new role, Lisa oversees the planning and execution of strategic public relations and marketing communications programs on behalf of Management HQ, as well as its clients. She most recently served as a director at Weber Shandwick, a leading global public relations firm. Lisa holds a bachelor of arts in speech communications and Spanish from the University of Miami (Ohio).
