My Dog Is My Home is a national nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness and their companion animals. MHQ is proud to select My Dog Is My Home as our 2025 community partner for the second year in a row. This organization is having powerful impact and providing invaluable support to keep people and their pets together. In addition to supporting the organization by donating a percentage of MHQ’s revenue in honor of our clients, we will share information about the organization each month and provide in-kind consulting services.
In March, My Dog Is My Home held a successful Open House in Los Angeles with emergency housing provider PATH LA, welcoming dozens of representatives from nonprofits and government agencies throughout California and as far away as New York and Wisconsin. The event received media coverage in the Los Angeles Daily News and on KTLA television. Watch the KTLA segment here: https://bit.ly/MDIMHktla
My Dog Is My Home founder Christine Kim also sat down for an in-depth interview with the Our Hen House podcast, which is available for free here: https://www.ourhenhouse.org/ep792/
Our fifth annual conference begins on March 25, featuring renowned speakers, including: Dr. Kwane Stewart (CNN Hero of the Year & Instagram’s @thestreetvet), Lori Weise (subject of the book Rethinking Rescue), and Joy Moses (VP of Research and Evidence at the National Alliance to End Homelessness). Each year, hundreds of representatives from nonprofits, government agencies, advocacy groups, and more join together at our virtual conference to address the intersection of housing justice and animal welfare, and create more pet-inclusive emergency and affordable housing.
