My Dog Is My Home is a national nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness and their companion animals. MHQ is proud to select My Dog Is My Home as our 2025 community partner for the second year in a row. This organization is having powerful impact and providing invaluable support to keep people and their pets together. In addition to supporting the organization by donating a percentage of MHQ’s revenue in honor of our clients, we will share information about the organization each month and provide in-kind consulting services.

Progress in New York State
My Dog Is My Home is one of the organizations leading a coalition to advance NYS bills S673/A1693, which would establish a grant program for housing people experiencing homelessness and survivors of domestic violence with their pets. Similar legislation in California has proven to be key in providing safe and secure housing for people and their pets. A Win in Colorado
The Colorado pet-housing bill (HB25-1207), “Pet Ownership Residential Housing Structures,” passed both chambers and is on the way to the Governor for his signature! When signed, the bill would prohibit insurance companies from refusing to insure or increasing a premium for renters based on dog breed. My Dog Is My Home team member Vanessa offered testimony in support of the bill before it passed both chambers.
