On Sat., Nov. 14, the MHQ team produced a successful “ADEC Connections: Life, Death, and Healing During Difficult Times” virtual half-day event. Kudos to MHQ team members Mackenzie Kelley, Rebecca Merrill, Krystin Eldridge, and Michelle Bjerkness.
“Thank you for how smoothly things went for ADEC on Saturday,” said Dr. Peggy P. Whiting, ADEC Vice President. “Please express my gratitude to all [on the MHQ team] who helped this take place. In my view it was a rave success.”
The event included three sessions: Religion and Spirituality in the African American Community: Meaning-Making and Resilience; Hospice in Transition: Hope in the Face of a Changing Experience; and Importance of Rituals in Grief and Loss – The Bonds We Share, culminating with an online social hour.
“It was a rousing success, made more salient by the social connections meeting at the end,” said Dr. Rebecca Morse, ADEC President. “We closed out the day with actual human interaction. Thank you to each of our presenters, our staff at MHQ, our numerous volunteers, and the Professional Development Committee!”
