Management HQ proudly partners with and supports organizations that are changing our communities for the better, like Joi Unlimited.
In May 2017 Joi Unlimited, a coaching and consulting firm grounded in the deep concept of healing justice, will launch the “OM Community Coaching, Training and Certification Program.” This program is supported by the Catalyst Initiative of the George Family Foundation.
Through this new program the Joi Unlimited team will be training a network of community coaches focused on increasing connection, transformation, liberation and healing from toxic stress and trauma in our communities and in systems.
Curriculum is grounded in the deep concept of Healing Justice through the Orange Method (OM). The Orange Method helps individuals and institutions to transform against the backdrop of oppression-induced trauma. This is achieved by creating boundaries at work, falling in love with self and community again or perhaps for the first time, and developing better access to the healthy expression of grief and pain.
The OM Community Coach Fellows are healers, artist and community organizers/leaders who are committed to healing justice for people from historically marginalized communities and their allies, grounded in black liberation and thus liberation for us all. Through the Training Program in Healing Justice, fellows will expand their capacity to be powerful “body workers” for the collective and individual body to release trauma and toxic stress. Using the principles of radical self-care in community, we are learning together how to do this work more fully while investing in ourselves and our work. The 12-week training program prepares fellows to become certified as OM Community Coaches/Orange Methodologist, working to teach the Orange Method to other individuals, communities, and healers.
Together, this shared focus on healing justice will:
- Turn lived experiences into social and economic capital;
- Revitalize communities;
- Create a clear pathway for better health and increased well-being and employment; and
- Reduce the trauma and toxic stress inflicted upon communities by systems.
Please SAVE THE DATE to join us for an open Community Healing Event led by the OM Community Coach Fellows on May 20, 2017!
