Earlier this month our regional Society for Association Executives, Associations North, joined the Community Impact Coalition, which includes 70 associations and charities, on Capitol Hill to advocate for associations to keep their tax-exempt status. ASAE has engaged early with the goal of preventing associations from being included in any initial proposal; no draft legislative language has yet been released.
“At Associations North, we recognize the incredible work our members and associations across the country do—often with limited resources,” says Associations North President, Angela Kissey. “Associations play a vital role in easing the burden on government systems by serving communities that might otherwise be overlooked. That’s the purpose behind our tax-exempt status: to maximize impact and deliver meaningful solutions where they’re needed most.”
