In May, Management HQ (MHQ) client, the National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC), celebrated the 45th anniversary of the NAGC Communications School, along with the annual Blue Pencil and Gold Screen Awards ceremony. It hosted its first hybrid event in Louisville, Kentucky.
More than 270 attendees from local, state, and federal government and joined both in-person and virtually from 41 U.S. states, 1 U.S. Territory, and Alberta, Canada.

“MHQ was instrumental in the planning and implementation of our first in-person Communications School since COVID” said Tabitha Clark, NAGC Board President. “While also sensitive to the needs of our membership, the staff at MHQ helped us develop a plan to offer certain aspects of the conference virtually. It was a huge undertaking and MHQ’s quality of work was a substantial reason why the 2022 NAGC Communications School was such a success.”
This multi-day conference boasted four keynote speakers, customized networking sessions for in-person and virtual attendees, and 20 breakout sessions, five workshops, and a panel discussion on topics including social media, storytelling, leveraging data, branding, project management, and inclusive communications.

“NAGC’s Communications School was an incredible event” said MHQ’s Isaiah Allen, who serves as the NAGC Executive Director. “Our team and the Board of Directors worked very hard to provide communications professionals with an excellent training opportunity and this event delivered. It was exciting to have an in-person event happen after these past couple years of virtual events.”
Based on attendee feedback, participants appreciated the event for its outstanding speakers, networking and learning opportunities, and chance to gather again in-person.
