The National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc. (NFPA) hosted its 2025 Annual Conference virtually from October 9–11, bringing together paralegal professionals, students, and legal industry partners from across the country.
This premier event provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to earn Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits, participate in regional meetings, and connect with peers in an engaging online setting.
More than 140 participants logged in to learn, share, and grow together, taking part in twenty-four educational sessions and three keynote presentations. The keynote sessions explored timely and relevant topics such as the evolution of the paralegal role, team building in hybrid work environments, and recognizing and addressing implied bias in the legal field.
Despite being fully virtual, the conference fostered a strong sense of community. Attendees made the most of the online platform by creating discussion breakouts, polls, and even a lighthearted forum to share their favorite pet photos.
“It was amazing to see everyone having fun and building relationships with one another outside of the educational sessions, even though they couldn’t meet in person,” said Rachel Gaul, MHQ Associate Executive Director. “First-time attendees could still get advice from long-time convention goers, informal conversations flourished, and the community reflected on what NFPA, and its annual conventions mean to them.”
The success of this year’s event was made possible through the dedication and leadership of Patty Meagher, MnCP, NFPA’s Convention Committee Chair. Meagher reported that “the convention was very successful,” extending special thanks to the NFPA Convention Committee and the MHQ Events Team, Amy Sellheim and Lynn Noble, whose hard work behind the scenes ensured the event’s smooth execution.
The 2025 NFPA Annual Conference once again demonstrated the strength and adaptability of the paralegal community, proving that meaningful professional connection and growth can thrive in any format.
