Executive Director Jim Murphy Runs and Pursues Hobbies
“I’ve averaged over 1000 miles each month throughout the pandemic,” says Jim. “I also do things to support others – my miles are dedicated to an autistic child that I was matched with almost 5 years ago through the #Irun4Michael group.”
Jim also mentions that pursuing hobbies and carving out alone time for exploring interests are other ways that we can all practice self-care!
Events and Outreach Coordinator Rebecca Merrill Loves To Read and Cook
Rebecca says, “Go for a walk, do some yoga, go for a run, have a solo dance party in your living room- bonus! Call a friend on your walk. Also, coloring books are a great way to relax. I step away from my screen, read a book, do something crafty, or pick a new recipe and make it with your family (or call your friend and make it together virtually).”
Events Manager Mackenzie Kelley Enjoys Going for Bike Rides
Mackenzie shares great self-care tips: Make sure to exercise each day! And with the gorgeous fall weather we’re going to have this week, we’ll be able to sneak in a few more bike rides!
Sticking to Healthy Routines Makes a Difference for CEO Dara Rudick
“My best days are when I stick to my morning routine,” says Dara. “I wake up at 5am, run with my dog, write in my journal and meditate, and eat my hearty bowl of oatmeal at a table (not in front of the screen).”
Dara adds, “I don’t hit all of those every day, but when I do, it makes an enormous positive difference!”
It’s certainly a good time to listen to our bodies and our minds. We value our associations and team members. Self-care helps us thrive.
