On March 6, advocates for the Minnesota Library Association (MLA) headed to the capitol in St. Paul, Minn. to advocate for libraries on behalf of all Minnesotans. Leading up to the annual legislative day, library supporters were asked to submit statements about why Minnesota libraries transform, highlighting the services and values in all types of libraries (public, academic, school, government, and others.)
Participants were asked to finish the statement, “Minnesota Libraries Transform Because…” Of the more than 70 submissions, the following three statements were selected as the winners and turned into stickers worn by advocates as they met with legislators. Each of the winning authors received a poster of their statement.
