On May 10, the Management HQ staff team participated in the first-ever 50/50 Day. On this day, more than 11,000 film screenings, discussions and events took place globally in companies, organizations and homes about how to get a more gender-balanced world in all sectors of society.
“Being a part of 50/50 Day was important because it spoke to diversity, one of our company’s core values,” said Rhianna Gawrys, MHQ Events and Membership Coordinator. “It also highlights the uniqueness of our company being founded and led by a woman.”
As part of our ongoing commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity, MHQ screened the film 50/50, directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Tiffany Shlain. Following the screening, the team participated in a robust discussion on how we can all work to support gender equity.
“The film highlighted the importance of mentorship, which our team felt should be implemented into our company’s culture, “ said Rhianna. “Plus, it gave us a chance to learn about the history of women in positions of power.”
