On January 19, the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Minnesota Chapter hosted a panel discussion on Building the Next Generation of Nonprofit Board Leadership.
Management HQ (MHQ) CEO Dara Rudick facilitated a panel including Mark Nerehausen, President of the Hennepin Theatre Trust; Melvin Tennant, President & Chief Executive Officer at Meet Minneapolis; and Michael Wirth-Davis, President and CEO at Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota.
“It was a real honor to facilitate this panel of brilliant professionals,” said Dara Rudick, MHQ CEO. “The combined expertise on board governance was incredible. I personally learned quite a bit from our discussion and am grateful to these individuals for participating!”
This panel of experts presented a lively discussion about continuously developing a robust pipeline of future board talent; balancing nonprofit board make-up with strategically connected individuals and those with specific skill sets; managing the benefits and limitations of term limits typical of nonprofit boards; and engagement opportunities to develop and assess future board leaders.
