My Dog Is My Home is a national nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness and their companion animals. MHQ is proud to select My Dog Is My Home as our 2025 community partner for the second year in a row. This organization is having powerful impact and providing invaluable support to keep people and their pets together. In addition to supporting the organization by donating a percentage of MHQ’s revenue in honor of our clients, we will share information about the organization each month and provide in-kind consulting services.
My Dog Is My Home recently hosted their 3-day virtual conference with over 525 attendees gathering for one purpose: Increase Pet-Inclusive Emergency & Affordable Housing. Here are some of the highlights for participants during the conference:
✔︎ Sat down with CNN Hero Lori Weise to hear how Downtown Dog Rescue has changed lives.
✔︎ Identified the issues and workable solutions for the workforce crisis with Joy Moses (NAEH) & Dr. Kwane Stewart (Project Street Vet).
✔︎ Learned from emergency housing providers how they’re creating space for both people and pets.
✔︎ Heard Mason Castillo’s powerful story—from experiencing homelessness with his cat to leading the behavior department at El Paso Animal Services.
These conversations are vital. They help ensure no one is forced to give up their best friend just to find shelter or safety.
