My Dog Is My Home is a national nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness and their companion animals. MHQ is proud to have My Dog Is My Home as our 2026 community partner for the third year in a row. This organization is having a powerful impact and provides invaluable support to keep people and their pets together.
In addition to supporting the organization by donating a percentage of MHQ’s revenue in honor of our clients, we share information about the organization each month and provide in-kind consulting services.
March 24-26 is the My Dog Is My Home Conference 2026, attended by hundreds of people across nonprofits, government, and people with lived expertise of homelessness. We are grateful and proud to host this annual online conference with the mission of advancing and expanding pet-inclusive housing so that someday no one will have to choose between a safe place to sleep and their pets—their family. On March 5 My Dog Is My Home joined with Father Joe’s Villages in San Diego to host an open house that was attended by dozens of professionals and advocates. The open house featured talks by representatives of both hosting organizations, offering support and guidance for creating more pet-inclusive housing. Guests also toured one of Father Joe’s Villages’ pet-inclusive emergency housing facilities. The event received a wealth of media coverage by outlets including the San Diego Union-Tribune and local NBC and Fox television stations.
We were also excited to participate in the National Alliance to End Homelessness Leadership Summit on Ending Homelessness that took place in early March in San Diego. There, we spoke with many old and new friends who are eager to advance pet-inclusive emergency housing.
